Method
  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Drain on paper towel. Roughly chop.
  2. Heat a gas or charcoal grill to medium-high heat. Brush the baguette with olive oil.
  3. Grill the baguette and romaine halves until lightly charred, about 2 minutes.
  4. Slice the baguette into 8 pieces.
  5. Serve the lettuce on a large platter topped with bacon and shaved Parmesan.
  6. Accompany with lemon wedges and dressing.
Here’s How: Caesar Dressing
  1. Add the garlic, anchovies and capers to a food processor. Process until finely chopped. Wipe down the sides.
  2. Add the yolks, lemon juice, mustard and Worcestershire. Blend until thoroughly combined.
  3. With the motor running, slowing pour in the oil in a thin stream.
  4. Wipe down the sides. Add the Parmesan and process until blended. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
